Fashion is Art ft. Thom Browne
Thome Browne’s runway this PFW was set up like an art studio. At the start of the show his entirely female cast took their spots at easels, but they themselves were the masterpieces. According to Vogue, “The idea, as Browne put it, was to imagine ‘Vigée Le Brun painting a vision of what she wanted to be in the 21st century.’ ” (Incase I have to spell it out for you- G E N I U S.) Brun was an 18th century revolutionary artist, famously known for being Marie Antionette’s portraitist, championing women at a time when men were the primary focus.
